About Valley of Flowers Trek Packages

The Valley of flowers is a world heritage site in the far interiors of the Garhwal Himalayas, which is spread over 87.5 sq. km. The valley of flowers is a part of the famous Nanda Devi Biosphere at an altitude of 3250 metres above sea level and is the home of numerous indigenous alpine plant and floral species. So many rare and endangered animal species live in this region, including the Asiatic black bear, brown bear, snow leopard, blue sheep, and many more.

Our trek into the valley will have you walking mostly to most parts of the area and, at times, climbing up to the beautiful vantage point to observe the immense beauty of this natural world.

We are making a plan of trekking to make it comfortable for travellers , we have a very comfortable and beautiful campsite at Ghangaria as a base for explorations into the valley. Flowers have varying months when they bloom, but mid-July to mid-August is when they bloom at their peak. Here, about 300 species of wild flowers flourish free from human interference.

Hemkund Sahib- Located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Ji is situated at an altitude of around 4329 metres above sea level, on the bank of holy Hemkund Lake. This high altitude pilgrimage site of Sikhism is dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. As per legends, it is believed that Guru Gobind Singh ji meditated at this place amidst Himalayas. Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara remains closed between October and April due to heavy snow. It lies at a high altitude and the winters are harsh here. As the summer approaches, many devotees, or 'sevadars', come ahead in the month of April or May to clear the path for the following devotees to have a safe trek from June till September.

Best time to do Valley of Flowers Trek

Summers: The best time to do the Valley of Flowers trekking is during the summer months that is from June to September. The summer months also conform with the monsoon season. The monsoon season brings rain showers that transform the valley into the lush green valley. But trekking during the monsoon season is risky due to slippery trails.

Itinerary

Day 1

Rishikesh Arrival & Drive To Joshimath (6150 ft) | 260 km

  • Assemble at the boarding point in Rishikesh - ISBT bus stand and drive to Joshimath. Joshimath serves as the beginning point and the base camp for the Valley of Flowers trek.
  • Enroute we will witness 4 holy sangams of Ganga river namely Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnprayag and Nandprayag.
  • After arriving in Joshimath, check in to our homestay/guesthouse, freshen-up and have some leisure.
  • Feel free to take a stroll around this gorgeous Himalayan town and pack for your next day's trek.
  • Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in Joshimath.

Day 2

Joshimath To Pulna Drive (25 km) | Trek To Ghangaria (9 km)

  • Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will drive from Joshimath to Pulna Village via Govindghat.
  • From Pulna we will start our trek towards Ghangaria - the base for Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib, along the pristine Pushpavati river.
  • After arriving in Ghangaria, check in to our homestay/guesthouse/camps ,have some leisure and regroup for a hearty lunch.
  • In the evening, savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 3

Ghangaria To Valley Of Flowers Trek & Back | 8 km

  • Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our trek from Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers.
  • Valley of Flowers is a World Heritage Site for its wild untamed blooms surrounded by white peaks.
  • Enroute witness the beautiful Laxman Waterfall and lush green surroundings.
  • Experience the refreshing landscape decorated with various vibrant flowers like Blue Poppy, Himalayan Rose and widely popular Brahmakamal to name a few.
  • If the weather is clear one can see the mighty Himalayan peaks such as Nilgiri Parvat, Rattaban, Gauri Parvat etc. in the backdrop. 
  • Post lunch, trek down from Valley of Flowers to Ghangaria and have some leisure in our homestay/guesthouse/camps.
  • In the evening, savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 4

Ghangaria To Hemkund Sahib Trek & Back | 12 km

  • Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our trek from Ghangaria to the holy Hemkund Sahib.
  • It is one of the most revered pilgrim site and World’s highest Gurdwara nestled at an altitude of 14,100 ft.
  • After arriving at Hemkund Sahib, pay homage at the Gurdwara and witness the sacred glacial lake called Hemkund.
  • During clear skies, one can witness the flawless reflections of the adjoining Saptrishi peaks in this sacred lake.
  • Post lunch, trek down from Hemkund Sahib to Ghangaria and have some leisure in our homestay/guesthouse/camps.
  • In the evening, savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 5

Ghangaria To Pulna (9 km) | Drive To Joshimath (25 km)

  • Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will trek down from Ghangaria to Pulna Village and further drive from Pulna to Joshimath via Govindghat.
  • After arriving back in Joshimath, check in to our homestay/guesthouse, have some leisure and regroup for a hearty lunch.
  • In the evening, savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 6

Drive From Joshimath To Rishikesh | 260 km

  • Wake up early in the morning, post morning tea check-out from our guesthouse/homestay and drive from Joshimath to Rishikesh.
  • By evening, you will be dropped at Rishikesh - ISBT bus stand.
  • Trek ends with lots of amazing memories and unforgettable experiences.
