Acclimatization- Trekkers should spend a day or two in Sankri or nearby areas, before starting the trek to Kedarkantha to acclimatize to the altitude. This helps reduce the risk of altitude sickness.
Packing Essentials- Pack light but ensure you have all the essential items such as Trekking Boots, Warm Clothing (including thermal wears, fleece jackets, gloves and hats) sleeping bag, a sporty and lightweight backpack, sunglasses, sunscreen lip balm, headlamp or flashlights, with extra batteries, water bottles or hydration system, snacks and a first aid kit.
Layering Clothing- Trekkers should wear layers of dress to adjust to changing weather conditions. Start with a moisture-absorbing base layer followed by a foil layer like fleece or down jackets and top it off with a waterproof and windproof layer of clothing for the outer shell.
Stay Hydrated and Nourished- Drink plenty of water during the trek to stay hydrated specifically at higher altitudes, where dehydration can occur quickly, carry high energy snacks like dry fruits and nuts, some energy bars and chocolates to keep our level up.
Follow Safety Guidelines- Stay with your group and follow the instructions of your guide, shun take unnecessary risks especially in terrible weather conditions or difficult terrains.

The best time to do Kedarkantha trek is during the winter season mainly, since the region experiences clear skies and stable weather conditions in the months of December to April making it ideal for trekking.
December to February is particularly famous as the region is usually covered in snow, offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks and pristine landscapes. However, keep in mind that the temperature can drop significantly during the winter months, so be prepared with appropriate clothing and gear.
April marks the end of the trekking season as snow starts to melt but it still offers pleasant weather and beautiful scenery. It's important to check weather forecasts and trail conditions before your trek. As conditions can vary from year to year.
Snowfall and Scenery- The winter months metamorphose the Kedarkantha region into a winter wonderland, with snow wrapping landscapes, forests and trails, the snow-capped peaks create a stunning backdrop, offering wonderful views during the trek.
Mild Weather- Despite the cold temperatures, the weather during the winter months is generally stable and mild, making it suitable for trekking. Days are crisp and clear with sunny skies while the nights can be cold but manageable with proper equipment.

Assemble at the boarding point in Dehradun - ISBT Bus Stand and drive to Sankri. Sankri village serves as the beginning point and the base camp for the Kedarkantha trek.

Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our trek from Sankri village to Juda Ka Talab. The initial trail passes through the dense pine forest which gets covered with snow during the winter season. Get mesmerized by the stunning view of Swargarohini mountain massif enroute your campsite at Juda Ka Talab.
After arriving in Juda Ka Talab, check in to our camps, treat yourself with a much-needed lunch and have some leisure. Feel free to take a stroll around and soak in the charm of the frozen lake. Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in camps.
Juda Ka Taal To Kedarkantha Base Camp (11,250 ft) | 4 km
Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our trek from Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp. The trekking trail to the basecamp is a bit steeper than the previous day’s trail.
After arriving in Kedarkantha Base Camp, check in to our camps, treat yourself with a much-needed lunch and have some leisure. Feel free to take a stroll around, indulge in snow fights or take part in group activities. Treat your eyes with jaw dropping vistas of snow-peaked Himalayas. Kedarkantha Peak (12,500 ft) & Descent To Hargaon (8,900 ft) | 9 km
Today is the most visually mesmerizing day. Wake up around midnight (2 or 3 AM) and start our trek from Kedarkantha Base Camp to Kedarkantha Peak.
At Kedarkantha Peak Summit, witness the famous sunrise and get mesmerized by the jawdropping view of Himalayan peaks of Garhwal region and Kinnaur region such as Gangotri, Swargarohini, Banderpooch, Kinner Kailash, etc.
Start your descent from Kedarkantha Peak Summit to Kedarkantha Base Camp and treat yourself with a hearty lunch. Start your descent from Kedarkantha Base Camp to Hargaon. After arriving in Hargaon, check in to our camps. Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in camps.
Hargaon To Sankri (4 km) | Drive To Dehradun (198 km)
Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our descent from Hargaon to Sankri village.
After arriving back in Sankri, quickly drive from Sankri village to Dehradun.
By late evening, you will be dropped at Dehradun - ISBT Bus Stand. Trek ends with lots of amazing memories and unforgettable experiences.

Route changes, postponement, delay, or finishing the trek a day earlier: Under some extraordinary circumstance, your trek may end a day earlier or start a day later. This may become necessary due to inclement weather, snow and ice conditions, political restrictions, or any other cause. In the event of a change, postponement or delay, participants have no right to refund of the trek (in whole or in part) or other compensation for any injury, loss or damage. Trek fee is not charged broken down in terms of days but is a composite fee for the whole trek.
