Bhutan, often referred to as the "Land of the Thunder Dragon," is a small landlocked country located in the eastern Himalayas. It is known for its stunning landscapes, rich Buddhist culture, and commitment to Gross National Happiness. Bhutan's unique blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and focus on well-being makes it a captivating destination for travelers seeking an authentic and enriching experience. Bhutan, officially known as the Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked country located in the eastern Himalayas. Bhutan boasts breathtaking natural landscapes, including soaring mountains, lush valleys, pristine rivers, and dense forests. It is home to several protected areas, such as national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, which preserve the country's rich biodiversity. Bhutan is deeply rooted in Buddhism, and the majority of the population practices Vajrayana Buddhism. The country is dotted with numerous monasteries, temples, and dzongs (fortresses) that serve as centers of spiritual and cultural life. Bhutanese festivals, known as "tshechus," are vibrant and colorful celebrations that showcase traditional dances, music, and masked performances. The festivals often coincide with significant religious events and are an integral part of Bhutanese cultural life.

Itinerary

  • Arrive at Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, meet your trip representative and start the journey towards the Land of Thunder Dragon – Bhutan.
  • Drive towards Jaigaon (West Bengal), the last border town and post clearing immigration move towards Phuentsholing.
  • After arriving in Phuentsholing by evening, check-in into our comfy hotel and have some leisure. If time permits, feel free to stroll around in the local market and Zangto Pelri.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Phuentsholing.

Inclusions

  • Transportation: Bagdogra to Bagdogra in Force Traveler/SUVs/Sedan or similar (as per group size) including pickup & drop facility from/to Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (transfers at fixed time only).
  • 6 Nights Accommodation on sharing basis: 1 Night in Phuentsholing, 2 Nights in Thimphu, 2 Nights in Paro & 1 Night in Siliguri.
  • 12 Meals: 6 Dinners & 6 Breakfasts, starting from Dinner on Day 1 till Breakfast on Day 7.
  • Assistance for obtaining Bhutan immigration visa/permits, Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) as per Bhutan Govt. - INR 1200 per person per day.
  • Experienced & Bhutanese license holder English/Hindi speaking guide.
  • Complimentary Bhutan SIM card will be provided per group.
  • Reliable and experienced local drivers to drive in the difficult terrains.
  • Driver allowances, toll taxes, parking, state taxes.

Exclusions

  • Any extra meals and stay arrangements apart from the ones mentioned under inclusions as per the itinerary.
  • Items of a personal nature like room heater, room/hotel upgrade, early/late check-in/checkout, porterage, tips, laundry etc.
  • Any entry fees, extra expenses for optional activities or tickets, Bhutanese cultural program, traditional dance or campfire, unless quoted in Inclusions.
  • Cost of snow-chained or 4*4 Vehicle if needed due to heavy snowfall.
  • Any other costing involved due to circumstances like natural calamity, weather conditions, riots, roadblocks, landslides or any other forced circumstances which are out of our control.
  • Anything which is not mentioned in the above inclusions.
  • GST (5%) is applicable extra.

Things To Pack

  • Good quality rucksack (preferably 40-60 liters) & a small day bag pack (for hikes/treks purpose) with rain-cover is recommended, easy to carry trolley bag.
  • A pair of shoes (mainly trekking/sports) with good grip & waterproof, atleast 2 pairs of socks & floaters/sandals/slippers.
  • Heavy down jacket, light fleece, long track/cargo pants, long/short sleeves T-shirts, body thermal wears (as per season), sun cap/hat, woolen cap & gloves (as per season), hoodie, raincoats/ponchos.
  • Personal care items like cold cream & moisturiser, sunscreen (preferably SPF40), lip balm, sanitary pads, toothpaste & other toiletries, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, insect repellent, body spray.
  • Personal medication (as prescribed by the doctor) & first-aid, sprain relief spray, glucose powder, tablets for headache, fever, diarrhea, motion sickness, dettol & cotton/bandages.
  • Personal documents & ID's like aadhar card, drivers license, passport or any other valid Government ID proofs.
  • Sunglasses, charger, power bank, quick dry towel, adequate amount of cash, quick snacks/dry fruits/energy bars, trash & waterproof laundry bags, re-usable water bottle.

Know Before You Go

  • Carry Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) or Indian Rupees (₹) - INR 500 & INR 2000 notes are not accepted; please carry INR 100 denominations.
  • Carry your original Voter ID card or a valid Indian Passport (passport must be valid for at least six months of validity from the last day of your Bhutan trip). For Children (under 18), please carry valid Passport or Birth Certificate.
  • Please carry four (04) passport-sized photographs and a valid ID proof (either Voter ID card or Passport) for obtaining permission to enter Bhutan. Kindly note that Indian Govt. issued Aadhaar Card is not accepted as a valid identity document in Bhutan.
