Zenkov Cathedral - Zenkov Cathedral is probably one of the most spectacular examples of Russian Orthodox architecture, and one easily understands why this amazing building is probably the most famous landmark in Almaty. It uses no nails at all; has a vibrant yellow exterior with exuberant designs and hence becomes a real visual masterpiece. The cathedral also houses a museum of Kazakh musical instruments.
In Almaty, there is a Memorial of Glory with the Eternal Flame, dedicated to the fallen soldiers during World War II. It is a solemn monument with a statue of a soldier and a woman as a part of it, symbolizing the gratitude of the nation. The eternal flame burns continuously, honoring the sacrifice of Kazakhstan's heroes.
Arbat - Arbat is the name given to Zhybek Zholy, a busy pedestrianized street in Almaty. This very noisy boulevard is filled with cafes, street artists, souvenir shops, and modern sculptures.
