Rajasthan, everyone imagine the deserts, forts or heritage properties in the name of exploring Rajasthan but there are lot more to explore in Rajasthan. “The Aravali Range” Yes, there are so many green mountains and lakes as well in Rajasthan.

This August, me and one of my friends planned a trip to Udaipur which is also known as “The City of Lakes”. We planned it in monsoon because of heavy flow of water in all waterfalls and lakes. I visited Udaipur two times before but this was an ultimate experience to explore Udaipur in Monsoon.

I am embedding the vlog of our Udaipur’s Journey which we shot in Hindi while traveling. Hope you like it.

We started our journey from Delhi and reach Udaipur by train - Mewar Express. It was journey of 550 km and train took 12 hours to cover this journey. After reaching Udaipur, we started our day by tasting the local street food - Vada Pav, Poha, Kachori etc. At 12 pm, we checked in our hotel - Hotel Udai Maidan. After taking rest of 2-3 hours and getting freshen-up, we started exploring Udaipur. We visited the 2 famous lakes of Udaipur - Fateh Sagar and Pichhola. There were so many boating and other water sports in Fateh sagar lake but we didn’t found it interesting. So, we just spend good time at the bank of lake and enjoyed the lunch near the lake. At evening, we went to Pichhola lake and spent quality time at Ghat. We hired a scooter (Honda Activa 4G) for 2 Days from the market near the lake. Enjoyed our dinner at a cafe near the lake.

Second day, we planned to explore Badi lake, Bahubali hills and other nearby places. We started our day by visiting Neemach Mata Temple which was near to Fateh Sagar Lake. It was a little hike of 20-30 Minutes to Neemach Mata Temple as it is located on a hill top. We found the mesmerising view from the temple. The both lake (Fateh Sagar and Pichola), City Place and most of the Udaipur town was visible from there. After spending some good time there, we trek down and start riding towards Badi lake. It was 30-40 minutes ride but we found a sudden rainfall on the way. So, we reached Badi lake after 2 hours. After parking our scooter, we start hiking to Bahubali Hills.

It was 15 to 20 minutes hike. The view from top was marvellous. We clicked lots of picture and sat on a spot near the view, ordered Maggie, tea and start enjoying the sunset. The view of sunset from Bahubali hills was incredible. And the day ends but it was worth visiting place.

Third Day, we planed to go far and explore some offbeat place. So, we chose Jaisamand Lake for today’s destination. It was 60 km from our hotel. We start riding at 11 Am in the morning after taking breakfast. The roads and the view was more amazing than the destination. As I said before, it was monsoon season. So, we found the lush greenery everywhere and scenic view. After the riding of 2 hours (as we were riding slow to enjoy the scenic journey), we reached Jaisamand Lake. There was an entry ticket for Jaisamand Lake of Rs 10.

This lake is so big and we got amazed to know that it is the man made lake. We planned not to do boating anywhere because we did boating so many times before. But here we changed our plan because of its beautiful scenery, we did a boat ride. It costed us Rs 100 per person for 15 minutes boat ride and it was totally worth. There is an island resort as well in this lake, you can visit and stay there. You need to book it online and a boat will come to pick you from there, At evening, we start riding back to Udaipur. It was a bad idea to ride scooter on that road at night time. It was cold and windy weather and there were so many wild animals there. By god grace, we reached safely.

Forth Day, we planned to explore the City places of Udaipur. After taking breakfast and checking out from hotel, we visited the City Place. There was an entry ticket of Rs 330 (Rs 30 for city place and Rs 300 For Museum) for the City Place. We spent around 3 to 4 hours in City place by visiting the museum and experiencing the awesome view of Pichhola lake and Udaipur city. After visiting the City Place, we enjoyed the sweet lassi in the market near the lake and visited Jagdish Temple. At evening, we start our journey towards Mathura by Train.

Fifth Day, we reached Mathura around 4 am in the morning. Hired a taxi to Vrindavan and reached there around 5 Am. My friend, Ketan Pathak who have 2 hotels in Vrindavan, came to pick us. We took rest of 5 to 6 hours in the hotel. Enjoyed our lunch in the Brijwasi Restaurant. After taking lunch, we start exploring Vrindavan. Firstly, we visited the Nidhi-van Temple, then experienced the Yamuna Aarti at Yamuna Bank.

Visited Prem Mandir and Chanted the

“Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,

Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare”

At Iskcon Temple. At night, we enjoyed the Aarti at banke Bihari Temple. At night, we enjoyed the street food in dinner, and stayed in hotel room after doing lots of gossips with Ketan.

Next Morning, we start our journey to Delhi by Haryana Roadways Bus and reached Delhi around 11 Am.

This is an unforgettable trip because of marvellous destinations, scenic views, new friends we made during this journey and lots of fun we did. I never expected Udaipur as beautiful as we found in the monsoon season. I strongly prefer everyone to visit here in monsoon season. I am sure, you will not feel regret.
