Chopta is totally an offbeat destination but on the other hand, it is also well-connected with the motorable roads in many Garhwal areas. But unfortunately there are no direct buses from Delhi, you must have followed the most basic and common route like: Delhi – Meerut – Khatauli – Muzaffarnagar – Roorkee – Haridwar – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Agastyamuni – Ukhimath – Duggalbitta – Chopta and the most second other route is like: Delhi – Meerut – Khatauli – Bijnaur – Najibabad – Kotdwar – Lansdowne – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Agastyamuni – Ukhimath – Duggalbitta – Chopta. If you’re trying to opt for a local bus, then you must take a bus from Delhi to Rishikesh which is about 250 kms and this journey will take you about 6-7 hours in duration to reach. Then there are 2 options that you can do- first you can hire a private or shared taxi from Rishikesh to chopta and another one is you can opt for public transport for budget travelling. The only thing that you need to take care about is timings of public transportation. The distance from Rishikesh to Chopta is 170 kms and it will take you around 5-6 hour to reach the destination.

There are shared taxis available from Delhi and Rishikesh to Chopta. If you want to travel with comfort but on a budget, then shared taxis is one of the best options that you can opt for. A shared taxi has lower rates compared to hiring a private taxi, and it’s the most suitable way to reach chopta.
Reach Chopta by a hired private taxi-:
There are private taxis available from Delhi and Rishikesh to Chopta. If you have limited time and don’t have any issue with money, then you can easily opt this option for exploring on your own without hesitation. Price of the taxis will be high if you go in peak travelling season, but you will get your full comfort in a private taxi. Reach Chopta by air-:
Unfortunately, there are no direct flight services from any major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, etc. But if you want to see the beautiful and massive ranges of Uttarakhand from the sky, then the nearest airport is situated in Dehradun that is Jolly Grant Airport. You can easily book a flight to Dehradun and land in Jolly Grant airport and reach Chopta by bus or taxi in around 6-7 hours which is located at a distance of 200 km from Dehradun.
Reach Chopta by train-:
Chopta is an offbeat destination and there is no facility of direct route to Chopta but if you’re willing to enjoy the journey of train in Uttarakhand then the nearest railway station is situated at a distance of 250 kms in Haridwar. After reaching Haridwar railway station you can easily get the private or shared taxi outside the railway station and local transportation in the Bus stand. Trains in Haridwar are connected with many cities and it’s the best and cheapest way to travel.
