Backpacking to Jim Corbett National Park Ramnagar Uttarakhand

I started my journey from New Delhi and it is a random plan. I just traveling in metro and I make a plan to go anywhere in Uttarakhand. So I packed my backpack and move towards Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. I searched there for the bus of Uttarakhand Roadways and I went on a bus of Delhi to Haldwani. This is a backpacking trip, so I choose non-AC bus for my journey. I started my journey of Haldwani from Anand Vihar Bus Terminal at 11 o'clock in the night and I reached Haldwani at 5 o'clock in the morning. Then I took a light breakfast and started the journey towards Ramnagar. I have the choice of many places to go and enjoy my trip of Uttarakhand like Nainital, Bhimtal, Mukteshwar, Almora, Ranikhet etc., but in the bus a local citizen of Haldwani suggest me to go Jim Corbett National Park. So I went Ramnagar to start my journey. There are not so many places to visit and enjoy in Ramanagar, but I spend my day with lots of entertainment. Yes, I am solo and I did a perfect wandering there. All people of Uttarakhand are nice by heart and helpful. After the journey of 2 hours from Haldwani to Ramnagar, I reached Ramnagar at 8 o'clock and then I took a heavy breakfast there. I started wandering there and find lots of inserting things there. I Choose Girjiya Mata Temple as my first destination of city Ramnagar. It’s approx. 15 km away from Ramnagar Bus Stand. I went there by a share auto by spending Rs 20 only.

Backpacking Garjiya Mata Temple Ramnagar Uttarakhand

After reaching Girjiya Mata Mandir, firstly I went to the bank of river Koshi, took rest there and enjoy the feel of flowing water. I sit approx. 1 and the half hour there because I have much time to wander in Ramnagar and Jim Corbett Forest. After a little rest, I went to the temple and went other temples also which are near this temple. After visiting temples of Ramnagar, I ate Maggie in the local restaurant which is nearby the temple. Then I moved back to the city from this beautiful destination and this beautiful river.

After reaching back to Ramnagar, I booked a safari for my entire trip to Jim Corbett. I took lunch there and start my journey. Booking a Safari in Jim Corbett National Park is too costly for solo travelers, I am solo and I book a safari in only Rs 600. Want to know how?

I went to a random safari driver in Ramnagar and told him to merge me in a group of friends or family. He agreed and he merges me with a group of family. There are 4-5 members of this family and I enjoyed well with them. For booking a personal safari in Jim Corbett for family or friends, Its cost around Rs 2000-3000 per safari for minimum 1 and maximum 6 persons. But if you are a solo travel and want to go there. It's good to merge yourself into a group. Its save your money.

There are many gates or parts of Jim Corbett National Park like Dhikala, Jhirna etc. But I have to go Jhirna Gate for my journey because the group in which I merged, are going to jhirna village. I agreed Village Dhikala is more beautiful and adventurous than Jhirna, but trust me Jhirna is also not so bad, I also enjoyed there a lot. I saw many kinds of birds and deer there. I saw many other animals there, but it's my bad luck I did not find any tiger at that time. The safari ride is very interesting. This 4-hour ride makes my day, especially last 1 hour in which I was so silent and observing the beauty of forest and wildlife. This park is the best for the wildlife photographer.

After visiting these awesome destinations, I moved back to Delhi. I went to Ramnagar Bus Stand and pick the bus of Uttarakhand Roadway going Towards Delhi. The bus was almost full but found a seat on this bus which is the last seat. There are 4 girls also sitting with me and they were going to Kashipur from here. I talked to them because I was a solo traveler and as a backpacker, I love to talk with locals. Now I can say I make many friends on this 2 days journey and collect many priceless memories…
