Pavagadh is in the Panchmahal district about 46 kilometers away from Vadodara in Gujarat state in western India. It is known for its famous Mahakali temple which draws thousands of pilgrims every day. The Pavagadh hill is a volcanic hill and has many caves in it.Apart from the temple, there are also other places to explore around Pavagadh like Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. It is a well-preserved example of Islamic architecture and culture dating back to the 16th century.
