How to Reach Kashmir?

By Air: The most convenient way to reach Kashmir is by flying to Srinagar International Airport. Multiple airlines operate regular flights from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore to Srinagar. From the airport, you can take a taxi or pre-arranged transport to your destination within Kashmir.

By Road: You can drive or take a bus to Kashmir from various parts of North India. The main highway connecting Kashmir to the rest of India is NH-44 (formerly NH-1A). Popular routes include Delhi-Jammu-Srinagar and Chandigarh-Jammu-Srinagar. The journey offers scenic views but can be long and challenging, especially during winter.

By Train: While there's no direct train to Kashmir Valley, you can take a train to Jammu Tawi, the nearest major railway station. Trains connect Jammu to most major Indian cities. From Jammu, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to complete your journey to Kashmir, which is about 300 km away.

Best Time to Visit Kashmir

Summer (May to August): Summer is the peak tourist season in Kashmir. The weather is warm and pleasant, perfect for outdoor activities like trekking, camping, and water sports on Dal Lake. However, it can get crowded, and prices tend to be higher.
