1. Christ Church: Constructed in 1844, Christ Church is a fine example of gothic architecture. The stained glass windows and tranquil atmosphere are good for a time of quiet reflection.
2. Sunset Point: This viewpoint has scenic sunset views over the Kasauli hills as its name implies. It is loved by visitors who love nature and photographers.
3. Monkey Point: Atop the Kasauli hill, this place is home to an ancient temple dedicated to Hanuman. Legend has it that Hanuman alighted here during his quest for Sanjeevani herb. A view from this point provides a panoramic outlook of Chandigarh city together with its environs.
4. Gilbert Trail: This walk covers 1.5 kilometers; it’s a haven of peace seekers. On either side of the trail there are pine trees and chestnuts whose beauty hides various plants and animals.
5. Kasauli Brewery: One of Asia’s oldest functioning distilleries was set up in the 1820s. Even though they do not offer tours, you can buy their famous single malt whiskey right here. The Ridge is a large open space located at the heart of Shimla town which offers stunning vistas all around the snow-capped Himalayas. There is also a neo-Gothic church on it serving as a social hub.
6. Mall Road: Mall Road is the main street of Shimla lined with shops, eateries and buildings built during colonial times. Where you can shop and feel local life around.
7. Jakhu Temple: This temple is the highest in Shimla and is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It attracts many people because of its 108-foot statue of the Hindu god, as well as monkeys which are very playful.
8. Viceregal Lodge: Now, The Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Viceregal Lodge has an impressive British architecture and also there is a museum inside that illustrates India’s movement towards its liberation from colonial rule.

Summer (April to June): Summer offers Mild climate at an average of 15 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. This season is a high travel period with the number of tourists and also congestion and higher charges.
Monsoon (July to September): Sometimes the region may be rainy but the vegetation gives the scene a green touch. It’s pretty obvious; the temperature ranges between 10°C and 25°C with less crowd.
Post-Monsoon (October to November): This season offers good atmospheric conditions, no cloud cover at all. Temperatures range from 5°c to 20°c, Post-monsoon is less crowded with Beautiful autumn foliage.
Winter (December to March): Winter offers low temperatures, which can be below freezing often, thus rendering it a cold climate area. This often turns the town of Shimla into a beautiful sight and winter wonderland. Ideal for skiing or other winter sports but expect some road/attraction to be closed temporarily.

The Kalka-Shimla toy train offers a scenic route to Shimla. For Kasauli, Kalka is the closest railway station.
