First stop on our journey is Mcleodganj - the Tibetan town in the Himalayas. The town is famous for being the home of the Dalai Lama, who resides in a complex of temples and schools. As a backpacker, this town offers a lot of local and traditional food to savor. There are several cafes and restaurants that cater to international travelers, serving a variety of cuisine from different parts of the world. Visit the colorful Namgyal Monastery and witness the peace and tranquility that comes with it. You can also start your trek to Triund from here, which is a popular trekking destination in the region. Our next stop is Bir, known as the "Paragliding Capital of India". Bir is a small village located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Jibhi, a small hamlet nestled in the pristine mountains of Himachal Pradesh is our next backpacker's paradise. A simple plan for a peaceful day is to hike around the Jalori Pass. Jibhi is one of the most beautiful and cleanest villages of Himachal Pradesh. You can spend a day relaxing by the river Jibhi which flows in the town. The valley also offers a range of homestay options with locals, giving you an insight into the local lifestyle and culture.

Moving on to Kasol, a small village in the Parvati Valley. It is famous for its stunning landscape, hippie vibe and cannabis culture. The village is a hub for backpackers and travelers who come here to delve into its serene beauty. Take a walk on one of the mountain trails, bask in the glory of the Himalayas, or just sit back at one of the cafes and enjoy Israeli cuisine.

Itinerary

Day 0

Delhi to Mcleodganj | Overnight Journey

  • Assemble at the boarding point in Delhi - RK Ashram Metro Station/Majnu Ka Tila.

  • Start an overnight journey to Mcleodganj and socialize with your co-travellers.

Day 1

Mcleodganj Arrival | Local Exploration & Cafe Hopping

  • After arriving in Mcleodganj, check-in to our hotel, freshen-up and have some leisure.

  • Post leisure, we will head out to explore the Tibetan Market, Bhagsunag Waterfall and visit the famous Dalai Lama Temple. Chill at local cafes in Mcleodganj (recommendations: Tibet Kitchen, Jimmy's Italian Kitchen, Coffee Talk, Moonpeak Espresso, Nick’s Italian Kitchen & Illiterati Cafe). How about trying some street style momos in the market, doesn't that sound yummilicious?

  • In the evening, savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Mcleodganj.

Day 2

Mcleodganj to Bir | Bir Cafe Hopping

  • Wake up and post breakfast, check-out from our hotel in Mcleodganj and drive towards Bir.

  • After arriving in Bir, explore the local market, chill at quaint cafes and visit vibrant Tibetan monasteries. Enjoy the breathtaking sunset scene as seen from the landing site.

  • Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in a hotel/campsite in Bir.

Day 3

Bir to Jibhi | Jibhi Arrival

  • Wake up early and post breakfast, check-out from our hotel/campsite in Bir and drive towards Billing for paragliding. Fly down from Billing to Bir and start-off your journey towards Jibhi.

  • After arriving in Jibhi, check in to our cozy hotel/homestay in Jibhi and have some leisure. In the evening, enjoy a warm bonfire with good music.

  • Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in a hotel/homestay in Jibhi.

Day 4

Drive to Jalori Pass & Trek to Serolsar Lake

  • Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, drive to Jalori Pass situated at 10,800 feet.

  • Hike to 360° Himalayan view point and get mesmerized by the stunning landscape of snow-clad Himalayas (if weather permits).

  • Trek further to the beautiful Serolsar Lake surrounded by lush forest cover and pay homage at Budhi Nagin Temple (if weather permits).

  • Post lunch, gather for an #InstaPerfect group picture, trek back to Jalori Pass and drive back to hotel/homestay.

  • Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in a hotel/homestay in Jibhi.

Day 5

Chhoie Waterfall | Jibhi to Kasol | Kasol Arrival

  • Wake up to a peaceful mountain morning, post breakfast, check out from the hotel/homestay and say goodbye to our lovely host. Visit the beautiful Jibhi waterfall and soak in the soothing surroundings of the place.

  • Drive from Jibhi to Kasol and indulge in river rafting enroute.

  • After arriving in Kasol, check-in to our hotel and freshen up. Quickly head out to chill at various quaint cafes positioned in Kasol.

  • Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Kasol.

Day 6

Kasol Local Exploration | Hot Springs & Chalal Hike

  • Wake up and post breakfast, drive from Kasol to Manikaran. 

  • Pay homage at the famous Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara and Shiv Temple.

  • Afterwards, we will hike towards Chalal village and return back to Kasol.

  • Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Kasol.

Day 7

Kasol to Manali | Manali Arrival

  • Wake up to a peaceful mountain morning and post breakfast, check out from the hotel in Kasol and drive towards Manali.

  • After arriving in Manali, check-in to the hotel, freshen up & take rest.

  • Feel free to stroll around in Manali and spend your rest of the day at leisure.

  • Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Manali.

Day 8

Manali Local Exploration & Cafe Hopping

  • Wake up to a peaceful mountain morning and post breakfast, head out to explore the famous Hadimba Devi Temple and chill at Old Manali cafes. Visit the famous Vashisht Temple and hot water springs. In the evening, visit The Mall Road in Manali.

  • Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in Manali.

Day 9

Atal Tunnel & Solang Valley

  • Post breakfast at the hotel, drive from Manali to Lahaul Valley via the newly opened Atal Tunnel. Visit Sissu village and waterfall (if weather & time permits).

  • Take a stop at Solang Valley and indulge in various adventure activities over there like zorbing, skiing, ATV rides, paragliding, zipline, and more (by your own).

  • In the evening, start your overnight journey from Manali to Delhi.

  • Reach Delhi next morning with lots of amazing memories and unforgettable experiences.
