Why is DJI Osmo not good for Travel and Adventure Video/ Filmmaking?

After Using DJI Osmo from last 3 months, now I am writing today about Why DJI Osmo is not good for Travel and Adventure Video/ Filmmaking? Because there are lots of reasons to discuss. So let’s discuss and know about it- Recently I did the trek to Mount Everest Base Camp where I used this DJI Osmo. This was the first time, I was using a DJI product on my traveling. It was working fine when I used this in Delhi and Kathmandu. Other than this, I made videos on my chopper ride to Lukla from Kathmandu. I made videos in Lukla, Namche Bazar and Phangboche, which is situated at the altitude of 3800 meters above from the sea level but after Phangboche, it stopped working. I didn’t know why? I tried lots of time but It didn’t start. After my trek when I go to DJI store, they said that it stopped because of High altitude which is not so good for traveling. I used this DJI Osmo camera in the snow of Kashmir but it stopped working because of moisture. That time I had to make all the videos from the mobile phone which is a very bad situation for DJI users. I planned to make videos of snow ski and snowboarding from DJI Osmo, but it is still a plan, unfortunately, it stopped working. For Travel, we need quick action or instant start but DJI Osmo took minimum 30-40 seconds to going on and start recording which is too late as compare to GoPro Cameras. DJI Osmo doesn’t have any display, so we need to connect mobile wifi for watching live recording which takes the 1-minute minimum. This is not so good if you are a traveler or adventurer. Another major problem in DJI Osmo is batter issue. DJI Osmo has battery of 1100 Mah only which make videos till 20-35 minutes non-stop. So you need to charge your DJI Osmo many times if you are recording a big film and you have to charge by its own charger. Where you can charge GoPro or other action cameras by power bank or solar charger. This thing is not so good for Travellers. 4K: 4096 x 2160 (DCI): 24p, 25p 3840 x 2160 (UHD): 24p, 25p, 30pFHD (1080p): 1920 x 1080: 24p, 25p, 30p, 48p, 50p, 60p, 120pHD (720p): 1280 x 720: 24p, 25p, 30p, 48p, 50p, 60pMaximum Bitrate: 60 Mb/s Audio Recording An integrated microphone allows onboard audio recording. With advanced controls like audio gain settings, you can be sure you’re not only getting the shot but also capturing the sound. Single Shot Photo Burst Mode: 3/5/7 shots Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) Interval Regular Time-lapse Moving Time-lapse Auto Panorama Selfie Panorama I don’t suggest you to buy DJI Osmo camera if you are a traveler but if you are a film-maker or not buying it for adventure, then Go for It. Happy Traveling :) Why is DJI Osmo not good for Travel and Adventure Video/ Filmmaking?
