Scuba Diving in Goa with West Coast Adventure - Cost and Training

Scuba diving is in bucket list of many people. It was on my bucket list also a month ago but I marked it done this month by doing it in Goa with west coast adventure. On my recent journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari (From North to South India), I reached Goa in the last days of my trip. I planned to do any big adventurous thing in Goa. While surfing it on the internet, I found a very good adventure to do In Goa. Yes, It’s Scuba Diving. I thought, why not mark it done on my bucket list now. I started searching for companies who will provide me the best services and dive with a highly experienced trainer. I found many companies in Goa who providing Scuba Diving but I needed to do it with the best. Because it is an experience which is memorable for my whole life. Then I found a company name- West Coast Adventure.

I called them for prices and details, and fortunately, I got a good deal. They gave me two package-

Rs 4000 for 20 Minutes Dive

Rs 5500 for 45 Minutes Dive

Both packages include training, transportation, breakfast, and lunch.

I booked a package of Rs 5500 because I wanted to stay longer and enjoy this experience.

Training Session for Scuba Diving in Goa-

Next Day, I went there office (Near Calangute Beach, North Goa) early morning for training. There is a swimming pool behind there office where they provide me a training. There were 9-10 other people also who came for scuba diving. They were 5 trainers, so we got the best training. Training is all about the fear we have of going inside the water. They taught us very perfectly how to breathe from an oxygen cylinder, how to use sign language inside the water. They also gave us their T-shirt which was good for swimming and diving. After one hour of training and teaching, we (me and other 9-10 people) were ready for dive.

Transportation for Scuba Diving in Goa-

After Training, we started our journey towards the place where we do scuba diving. It was 20 minutes drive to the beach and from there, 1-hour boat ride to an island where we did diving. We saw lots of dolphins on our way to that island. I saw the Goa’s famous lighthouse, fort and many other famous places on the way. They gave us light food and some fruits on the way like bananas, orange etc. They told us that don’t eat any heavy food before dive. It is not good for a good dive.

Scuba diving is the best water adventure you can do in India but many people scared to do it. Not an uncommon thing, I was also scared of doing this but trust me, it is a very interesting thing. I enjoyed every minute of those 45 minutes of my dive. I explored the life of the sea, I swim with the fishes, I saw many kinds of fish and other sea animals. When I was inside of the sea, I was living a new life where I forget all worries and tensions of my regular life. I was breathing from an Oxygen Cylinder and I was feeling very light. The trainer clicked photos and made a short clip of our diving. There is a trainer always with you when you go inside the sea and they always check the weather reports before dive (Like any current in water). If you also scared of doing it. After Scuba Diving, I did swimming also near the boat. I don’t know how to swim, I jumped in the sea after wearing a life jacket. This was also an amazing experience to swim in Arabic Sea.

On the time to going back from that island to their office, We all are quiet because we just passed away an unforgettable moment. That day I remembered the scuba diving scene from the movie “Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara”. I understood that time, why they were so quiet in that movie and they played a poem in the background. Because I was feeling the same. After some time the team of West Coast Adventure gave us lunch and fruits like watermelon, papaya etc. and after 1 and a half hour of the boat ride and car journey, we reached back to their office. It was time to say bye to all fellow divers and trainers. I was feeling so lucky to do that.

Really, It is Unforgettable.
