DAMAN AND DIU

Daman and Diu is the permanent abode of serenity, it is great for those who want to enjoy spending their time in leisure, along with some adventure activities and sightseeing. Gorgeous beaches are an essential part of this region. It is home to five beaches, the most famous being the Nagoa beach, located in the village of Bucharwada, it is shaped in the form of a semi-circle and offers various activities including swimming and gamboling.


Daman and Diu have two forts, both of which offer great sightseeing opportunities and are reminders of its colonial past. The Fortress of Panikotha has an incredible structure made of stone. At one point of time, it served as an entry post for regulating the entry and exit of merchant ships entering Diu for trade purposes, especially spices. Another is the Fort of Diu, situated on the eastern side of Island. 


The region offers various water sports, one can try a variety of water activities. In the Island of Diu, there are two beaches that offer thrilling adventure activities, these are Nagoa Beach and Ghogla Beach. The different types of water sports one can enjoy are scuba diving, parasailing, water roller, water scooter, speed boat, water zorbing ball, hot air balloon, water skiing, banana boating and bumper boating. Also, one can explore Naida Caves, situated outside Zampa Gateway. These are rock formations found on the ground level; it is believed that these caves were once used by prehistoric men. 


There is a huge influence of Portuguese culture in the region, it is because the region was under the Portuguese rule for over 450 years. This is one of the main reasons why tourists visit this place in large numbers. It is due to this influence that you can find a lot of splendid architecture, delectable cuisine, and breathtaking art and crafts in Daman and Diu.
