Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The name "Spiti" means "The middle land", i.e. the land between Tibet and India.

Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Assemble at boarding point -RK Ashram Metro Station or Majnu Ka Tila

    Overnight Journey to Shimla by Volvo bus.


  • Day 2

    Reach Shimla in the morning.

    Get freshen-up and take breakfast.

    Drive to Kalpa via Rampur-Bushahr and Sarahan.

    Reach Kalpa by afternoon.

    Enjoy the majestic view of Kinner Kailash.

    Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.


  • Day 3

    Wake up early and take breakfast.

    Post breakfast, drive to Giu monastery which still has 800 years old mummy of a monk.

    From here, you will get a perfect feel of Winter Spiti.

    Scenic and crazy drive to Tabo village and experience the view of half frozen Spiti River and 360 degree view of Snowy mountains.

    After reaching Tabo, take some rest in the hotel/homestay.

    Dinner and overnight stay.


  • Day 4

    Wake up early and take breakfast.

    Post breakfast, drive to Pin Parvati National Park.

    After that, will take another scenic drive to Kaza which is the capital town of Spiti Valley.

    Dinner and overnight stay.


  • Day 5

    Wake up early and take breakfast.

    Post breakfast, drive to the world's highest motor-able village - Komic.

    Drive to Hikkim and send postcards to your friends & family from the highest post office in the world.

    Drive to Langza and gather for an #Insta perfect photo. 

    Dinner and overnight stay in Kaza.


  • Day 6

    Wake up early and take breakfast.

    Post breakfast, drive to the famous Ki monastery.

    Drive to Kibber which is famous for snow leopard expeditions.

    Visit Asia's highest bridge - Chicham bridge.

    Dinner and overnight stay.


  • Day 7

    Wake up early and take breakfast.

    Post breakfast, it will be the time to say goodbye to Spiti Valley as well as our lovely hosts and head back towards Kinnaur.

    Drive to Sangla and enjoy the scenic journey.

    Dinner and overnight stay.


  • Day 8

    Wake up early and take breakfast.

    Post breakfast, will start our drive towards Shimla.

    Overnight journey to Delhi by Volvo bus and reach Delhi next morning.

  • Transportation from Delhi to Delhi: AC Semi-Sleeper Volvo bus/Tempo Traveler.
  • Accommodation on sharing basis: hotel.

Things to Pack

  • Waterproof and good quality backpack or rucksack is recommended over trolley bags since you’ll be changing multiple accommodations during the entire trip.

  • Warm woolen jackets/sweaters, air/water resistant jackets, body thermal wears, gloves, caps and extra pairs of socks to protect yourself from wind chill and low temperatures.

  • Bikers need to carry rainproof lowers, ponchos and gumboots.

  • Sunglasses, comfortable clothing and sports shoes.

  • Personal water bottle (avoid single-use plastic) to avoid dehydration issues.

  • Quick snacks for journey like dry fruits, biscuits, chocolates, energy bars, glucose sachets.

  • Personal care items, sunscreen lotion (prefer SPF30 or higher), lip balm, toiletries, wet wipes and hand sanitizer.

  • Diamox (altitude sickness drug), camphor tablets, medicines for motion sickness, fever, stomach ache, headache, cold, body pain and any other personal medicines.

  • Phone, camera, power banks and photography equipments.

  • ATMs and adequate amount of cash for shopping, cafe visits.

  • Personal identity document like Aadhaar, driving licence, passport, etc, since it is needed while applying for inner line permit and other security checks.
