Everest Base Camp Trek From Kathmandu – My Trek Story
Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the 5 top famous treks in the world. Everest region is very famous in Nepal. There are many reasons which make it different and wonderful. I like this region because of its clean way, dustbin everywhere, the porters who are working hard for providing all facilities to us and many more. I did this beautiful trek in the month of May, and I want to do this trek again also.
I dreamt to do this trek on February when I started my Kashmir to Kanyakumari Trip. And after 3 months, I did this trek or you can say I completed my dream of Everest. On may 1st, I decided to do this trek. I booked my package of Everest Base Camp Trek from – Hiking Adventure Treks Pvt. Ltd. It was hard to be prepared for this trek in this short time but I did it. There are lots of trekkers come every year to do this high altitude trek, some complete it easily but some needs rescue as well. After the long wait of 3 months, I crossed the Indian – Nepal Border and reached Kathmandu for this amazing trek.

Journey From Kathmandu to Lukla-
There is not any road to Lukla from Kathmandu, so you have to go by flight or chopper. I selected Chopper for this beautiful journey because I wanted to make videos from the front seat. The experience of this amazing journey was amazing. After the helicopter ride of 40-45 minutes, I landed at the most dangerous airport in the world – Lukla. There are many reasons why Lukla is known as the most dangerous airport. After Landing, I called to my guide- Mr. Jeeban, he pick-up me from Airport and we went for the lunch first because I was too hungry at that time.
Lukla to Phakding-
After the lunch, we started the trek to Phakding. It was 3 to 4-hours walk to phakding from Lukla. The journey was amazing. I found many kinds of flowers, green fields, many animals on the way. The way was also good. After the trekking of 4 hours, we reach Phakding. It was evening time and I was too tired, I took rest and slept in a lodge after taking dinner.
Phakding to Namche Bazar-
This was the very hard trek day. It took 8 hours to reach Namche Bazar from Phakding in which from starting four hours, we just did walking which is too easy and last 4 hours we need to climb up which is too hard. We did our lunch on the way. There were lots of trekkers who were doing trekking there. I met many new people from other other countries. Namche Bazaar is the very famous town of Everest Region. There are many shops in this town. You can purchase trekking equipment, jackets, sleeping bags, medicines etc. from these shops in Namche Bazaar. I took one day rest here.
Namache Bazar to Pangboche-
After taking one day rest and purchased some products from Namche Bazar, We started trekking to Pangboche. It took 7 to 8 hours to reach Pangboche from there. The way was good. On the way, we went to the Tengboche monastery which is the very beautiful monastery of Everest region.

Pangboche to Thukla-
Trek to Thukla from Pangboche is the little bit hard. On this walk and climb of 8-9 hours, I liked my lunch place. I took lunch in a restaurant in the village of Phirtse which is so beautiful. I ate my lunch in front of very scenic beauty. I saw the best helipad in Everest region in this village. For reaching Thulka village, we need to cross the river from the stones. There is not any bridge for crossing this river. After reaching Thukla, I took my dinner and slept because I felt so tired that day.
Thukla to Gorakhshep and Everest Base Camp-
This was the day when we were finally going to Everest Base Camp. We started our trek at early morning from Thukla. The starting of the day was not so good because we need to climb up till thukla la pass. After reaching Thukla La pass, the way was good, not to climb. After the walking and climbing of 5 hours, we reached Gorakhshep. We went to our lodge where we were staying in Gorakhshep and drop our bags there, took lunch and start trekking to Everest Base Camp. Everest Base Camp is 90 minutes far from Gorakhshep, the way is also good. At that time, I was feeling little headache because of high altitude.
After the trekking of 90 minutes, we reach Everest Base Camp, I was too happy at that time. I started shouting, dancing, clicked hundred of pictures and did lots of fun. There are many camps of the persons who are doing training to climb Mount Everest in the Everest base camp. After spending 2 hours there, we moved back to Gorak Shep. After reaching Gorakhshep, I went for dinner and slept.
