Amritsar Street Food Bicycle Tour – City on Pedals – My Experience
Amritsar is famous for its heritage places, Golden Temple which is also known as Gurudwara Harmandir Sahib, Attari- Wagah Border (India – Pakistan Border) which is around 50 km. Far away from Amritsar city and its street food. I discussed all the things except Street food on my recent article. So in this article, we discuss the street food tour of Amritsar city which is more interesting than any other things (according to me). If you are also a foodie like me or love to taste the local and street foods of the city or village where ever you travel, so let’s read this article till the end, you will surely get an idea of Amritsar Street Food.
What to Taste in Amritsar? Famous Food or Drinks?
There are hundreds or cafe and restaurants in Amritsar city but the street food is still more famous. Because the taste of street food is famous from last many years and you can find the real taste of Amritsar or Punjabi Thali’s here in these roadside food stalls. There are many food and drinks which are famous in Amritsar and you have to taste while your Amritsar trip-
If you are from North India or visited other parts of North India, I am sure that you heard this name many times before. Because Amritsari Kulcha is very famous in all places. They made this kulcha in the very different way which makes it popular. I tasted Soya Kulcha which is healthier as well.
If you are coming Punjab first time or never tasted lassi of Punjab, Then I strongly prefer you to try this one. I am sure that it will be your daily drink after lunch. This is a milk product made by curd. There are two types of lassi, you will find in the market – Sweet and Salty. I tasted sweet lassi during my Amritsar Street Food Bicycle Tour.
Amritsari Nan is as famous as Amritsari Kulcha. They make this tasty nan by weights. Nan is much similar to Chapati (Roti) or you can say it is upgraded version of chapati. You will find different kinds of nan here like Butter Nan, Aalu Nan, Paneer Nan etc. They will serve this Amritsari Nan with Sabji and Dal. I ate this nan on my dinner all day when I was in Amritsar.
On my Amritsar Street Food Bicycle Tour, I tried steam and fried momos also which was the very tastier momos, I ever ate in India. If you also love to try momos, I recommend you to try from roadside stalls.
This is another thing, I liked my Amritsar Street Food Bicycle Tour. After tasting the street food, we went for tasting aam papad of Amritsar which makes my food tour more amazing.
